Trip to Kalahasti

My weekend trip to Kalahasti is another memorable trip. I started on saturday evening by bus along with mom and niece. we reached there by 8.pm and went to my aunt's place. resting in their house that night.

Nandiyavattai / Crape Jasmine
My Niece plucked few crape jasmine flowers from the plant in my Aunt house and we offered those flowers to god and made our prayers before leaving to temple.

On the way to temple we also went to another small temple which is named as Bangaramma temple. adjacent to the temple there is a Gigantic statue of Hanuman.which made me to click the pic.

The story of the Hunter Kanappa who offered his eyes to lord shiva in shivlinga form is very neatly and beautifully sculpted here...

My Little Chef

it was quiet a hectic and tiresome day for me at office. when i was returning back home my 8 years old niece called me asking when will i reach home as it was late that day. i told her that iam on the way to home and will reach soon.

when i was entered my home it was filled with the nice aroma of butter and cheese. i hugged my niece smelling the aroma and felt that someone was having a nice evening snack and got fresh up. i asked her whether she want doodh along with snacks? my niece came up to me saying that it would be better to have some sandwich with a cup of chai. i nodded my head in agreement.

before i search for ingredients.she then went inside and brought a plate with hot sandwiches neatly garnished.

i was surprised. she had made sandwiches herself using the sandwich maker. it was so yummy and delicious. i am proud of her.then i made coffee for myself and boost for her and enjoyed the evening.

Mouth Watering Pickle

Every year in the summer vocation we use to go to Andhra to visit my granny and ofcourse to explore the Mango orchard. Mangoes are the king of fruits which is my favourite too. i dont just eat the mangoes, i will take all ripe bangani palli mangoes for preparing Jam and raw mangoes for pickles. very traditional Andra Aavaka pickle is very tasty and famous. I totally love the Andra style pickles.

this time i joined with my sister in law to prepare it and to store for a year. we started the mission.
the fresh raw mangoes plucked from the garden, neatly chopped by brother.Mustard powder, chilly powder, turmeric powder, sesame oil and salt... and we added the ingredients one by one and mixed well. the nice aroma that came out while mixing made me to taste it before storing. it was yummy yet spicy...then we took a clean dry glass Jar and to store the pickle then i poured more oil and mixed well so that the oil should raise on top of the pickle and looks like a thin film which prevents the pickle getting spoiled...

the colour and taste of the pickle was so apealing. its a treat for eyes too...

Yummy Yummy Food

It was a cool rainy evening when children wanted to eat something hot. thinking of what to do i searched here and there for a while. thought of making noodles first, but only one packet was left there. so i picked up macaroni.then i let it to boil my nephew made way to kitchen asking me what am i preparing for him. i told him macaroni. then he questioned that what will i add next seeing me chopping veggies i said i will add red tomatoes and greeny capsicum. then he raised another question .if you add tomatoes and capsicum what will happen? i looked at him smiling and told him then i will some spices to make it tastier... he continued his question session "then what will happen?" then your dish will be ready to taste so you go now and play with others i will bring it to you when its ready" i answered. still he didnt go.he kept watching me preparing it till the end and waiting for me to serve him first.

finally when i served him he was all smiles... the kids swiped off their plates...
